iTrax STEALTH GPS Tracking System Specifications

iTrax System Overview
The iTrax unit has
4 main areas of operation -

1.  Main system control
2.  Wireless transmitter
3.  Input/output power
4.  GPS receiver

The iTrax input/output connector is designed to be wired directly to the external input/output of standard aftermarket remote start kits and control it's features remotely.

The iTrax tracking system can be accessed several different ways.
1.  Any computer with internet access
2.  A cell phone with web access
3.  Any telephone using a voice command

iTrax Multiple Tower Network
iTrax devices use a simulcast network where messages are sent to the iTrax from multiple towers simultaneously at high power (1000 watts).  Messages received from the iTrax are also received by the multiple towers.  This redundancy enables communication even during heavy network congestion and increases overall reliability.

Most devices use Broadband networks than transmit from the closest single tower at weak power (60 watts).

iTrax GPS Network
The network providing iTrax its location information is the Global Positioning System (GPS).  The GPS system is a constellation of 27 earth-orbiting satellites owned and operated by the United States Government.

iTrax contains a GPS receiver to receive the location information from the satellite network.  The GPS receivers job is to locate 3 or more of these satellites, calculate the distance to each and through a process known as "triangulation" use this information to find its own location.
